Jessica Simpson
Jessica has developed marketing plans, placed ad buys, directed creative, written copy (lots and lots of copy), distributed brochures, and everything else under the sun needed to put “butts in seats” as the Marketing Director for the Alys Stephens Center since 1999.  Prior to joining the ASC family she served in a marketing capacity for other vital Birmingham institutions including City Stages, WTTO, and the ASO.  Jessica’s passion is travel which is one reason she loves the ASC’s mission.  She says, “Being able to bring all of these amazing, diverse artists from around the world to Birmingham gives us a chance to expand our horizons and a real taste of the big world around us.”

Heath Mixon
Heath Mixon is a famous (in his own mind) local actor, director, and karaoke vocalist.  You can catch him most days at the Alys Stephens Center selling the best tickets in town.  On other days he spends time with his friends and his dogs Owen and Charlie.  He is currently working on his first novel.

Mark Marquis
Mark, a native of Birmingham, has been active in the arts his entire life.  In addition to his position as Marketing & Publications Specialist at the Alys Stephens Center, Mark runs a freelance business on the side, which specializes in graphic design and portrait commissions.  He also “spins” occasionally as a club/house DJ locally and in Atlanta, Orlando, Fort Lauderdale, and Nashville.

Natalie Garcia
As Marketing Manager for the Alys Stephens Center and mother of two young boys, Alexander and Ry, Natalie understands the need to juggle multiple projects at once. She can be found overseeing print deadlines; writing and proofing copy; managing the website; or organizing an ASC volunteer group. Before joining the ASC in 2003, Natalie worked for a Nashville publishing company and a Birmingham advertising agency where she did everything from write advertising copy to produce television commercials. Natalie thrives in a creative environment and has always surrounded herself with creative individuals including her talented husband who is a cabinet and furniture maker.

Liz Grady
Elizabeth Grady, Artist Coordinator, works closely with the Executive Director of the Stephens Center and guest artists’ agencies.  From arrival in Birmingham to departure, the artists are her responsibility.  She arranges and provides all ground transportation and schedules hotel accommodations, catering, wardrobe personnel, artist merchandise, piano tunings, and all incidentals.  Annually Liz handles over 100 artists and their personnel, from pop musicians to high-tech dance companies.  She has worked professionally as a Stage Manager for the Lincoln Center, Carnegie Hall, and the Kennedy Center.

Bryan Jones
As the Box Office Manager at the Alys Stephens Center, Bryan works very hard to make sure that your seats are just exactly perfect, and that the seat cushions are nicely fluffed when you arrive at the venue. Not really, but he does do everything humanly possible to get you the best seat for the best shows in town. Bryan has been involved in the arts ticketing industry for ten years, and has worked for Ticketlink, Ticketmaster and the BJCC, before coming home to the ASC, where he has been since March 2000. When he’s not serving up an ice cold glass of ticket, he enjoys spending time with his wife Mel and 11 month-old-son Will.
