It’s rather surprising to me that I’ve never heard of Lizz Wright until now considering I once resided in Valdosta, Georgia…a few miles away from her small hometown of Hahira. Listening to snippets of her sound on iTunes and knowing of the electric atmosphere that the Alys Robinson Stephens Performing Arts Center provides probably made for a great show. I really like how you vividly described this experience from what the artist was wearing to her voice and even the minute movements she made while she seemed lost in the music. It really felt like I was there. This is a great review and I appreciate you sharing the experience. It opened my eyes to an unknown talent.

A place that IS Birmingham would be the Garage – for drinks, after food, perhaps? Although their sandwiches are great! Any of Frank Stitt’s restaurants would be dreamy, but alas, no karaoke.

There is no food, but Karaoke is from 9 P.M.-until at Stir Crazy in the Green Springs Shopping Center. It is the same shopping center as Acalpulco Grill on the right as you head down Green Sprigns. From the ASC, take a right on 10th. Ave. and a left at the light at the end of 10th Ave (Which Illusions is across the street from the turn). Then follow Greenspring and it is about 1-2 miles on the right.
