Welcome to the Alys Robinson Stephens Performing Arts Center, a beautiful 90,000-square-foot multi-purpose facility located on the campus of the University of Alabama at Birmingham.  Since opening in 1996, the ASC has become one of the Southeast’s premier performing arts centers hosting the best in international, national, and local performance. Today, the Center welcomes over 250,000 people each year for more than 300 events. The state-of-the-art facility houses four superb performance venues, including the:

• 1,330-seat Jemison Concert Hall
• 350-seat proscenium-style Sirote Theatre
• 180-seat Reynolds-Kirschbaum Recital Hall
• Black-box Odess Theatre

The Center also includes beautiful lobbies and reception areas allowing a variety of activities to take place simultaneously. All lobbies and venues meet current guidelines as required by the American Disabilities Act and contain an infrared system for the hearing impaired.

The ASC presents over 100 world-class performances and educational outreach activities each year ranging from classical music and jazz to comedy, theatre, and dance. In addition to the ASC-presented events, the facility also hosts performances by the Alabama Symphony Orchestra, Alabama Ballet, Opera Birmingham, UAB’s Departments of Music and Theatre, and many other local arts organizations.
